Favorite Phindy

Hi everyone!!  Yep...it's time for another challenge at Phindy's Place!!  Our challenge this week is to use our favorite Phindy image.  Well there is no way that I can pick a favorite image from Phindy's Place so I have decided that I would use my very first Phindy image.  Okay, this image is a Christmas image but I have decided to try and make it more of a springtime image.

Here's the card I made with the image Kitty Snuggle.

I fell in love with this image the very first second that I saw it.  Well, from that point on I have been a total Phindy's Place addict!!  I'm willing to bet that I probably own about 90% of Phindy's images!!  I LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!!

For this card I have use some Bo Bunny paper that I just bought from a LSS going out of business.  So, how did I do making this a non Christmas image?  I think it turned out pretty cute!!  Totally love the colors in that paper!!  My sentiment is a stamp from MSE and the flowers are Primas.  I also used my MS punch for the branches and nesties to cut out my image and the frame.  My image has been colored with Copics and I have used Prismas and OMS to do the grass and shadow.  I'm really starting to love that look!!

It's Sketchbook Wednesday

At The Digi Shack!!  Hi everyone!!!  It's time for a new challenge at The Digi Shack.  This week we have another FABULOUS sketch for you to play with.  As always you don't have to use a Digi Shack image but with them being so inexpensive why would you not want to use one!?!  Here is our sketch for this week..............

And here is the card I created based on this sketch........

I just love this silhouette image from The Digi Shack and guess what!?!  It's only $1!!

For this card I have cut my image and frame out with my coluzzle and added black glitter from Doodlebug and then lime green Stickles.  For my sentiment I have used a MSE stamp, stamped with white ink from Colorbox and used holographic embossing powder from from Ranger.  This card is so much prettier IRL!!!  The background paper is actually wrapping paper and the DP that my sentiment is on is from Mod.  I actually got both of these in one of my  Scarlet Lime  scrapbooking kits.

An Either Or

Sorry my post is so late today but I had a granddaughter disaster!!!  She got her little hands on my USB cable to my camera and OMG....I turned my house upside down looking for that stupid thing!  You are never going to believe where I found it............folded up in the playpen!!!!!  One good thing is that I cleaned under and behind my sofa.  That beast weighs a ton!!!  I wonder how you can get so much crap underneath the sofa!!!!!!  Anyway....it's now found!!  WooHoo!

Our challenge this week at Michelle Perkett Studio is an Either Or challenge.  The challenge is to use your favorite Michelle Perkett Studio image in an anything goes format but you can either use the sketch that Nancy has created for us or you could use your own design!!  We would love to see you use this sketch........

A Tiddly Inks Mother's Day

WooHoo...can you believe that we have made it to our second week already!?!  Wow...you all did such an amazing job on our very first challenge at Tiddly Inks!!

Our challenge this week at Tiddly Inks is a Mother's Day theme.  Luckily I finished this card and took the picture before my 1 year old granddaughter showed up on Thursday and made away with my camera's USB cable.  Ugh!!!  Of all the bad timing!!

For my card I have used this precious little Annie's Bear image and thought this would make an adorable Mother's Day card!!  Now for my card.............

Isn't she just the cutest little thing playing Mommy to her little bear!?!  I really enjoyed playing with this precious image.  She is colored with Copics and I have used Prismas and gamsol for the grounding.  Still trying to get the hang of that technique but overall I think it turned out pretty cute!!

Michelle Perkett Studio's Earth Day Blog Hop

Today at Michelle Perkett Studio we are having an Earth Day Blog Hop and if you arrived here from Robyns AWESOME blog then you are on the right track.  Our challenge was to use recycled stuff and we must have the color green.  As some of you probably know....I am the worlds worst at creating projects!!!

Okay...I'll show you my project and then I explain everything!!  :)

I just love how this turned out!!  I was trying to think of something to do (well actually I was racking my brain) when it hit me!!!  I had just emptied a half gallon carton of soy milk and was thinking that I could make something with that.  Well, then I saw a couple of Fresca soda cans sitting on the counter and that's when it slapped me right in the face!!!  I was going to make a flower arrangement with pop cans, a milk carton and shredded paper.  I used my flower punches to punch out my pop cans.  That was a kill 2 birds with one stone moment!  You know how they always tell you to use tin foil to sharpen your punches?  Well, tin foil is not something that you can recycle so by using the aluminum can I was able to sharpen my punches and still be able to recycle the aluminum that I didn't use!!  Now how cool is that, huh!?!  I used shredded paper (that I actually swiped out of the worm bedding bag) to hold my flowers up and this is sprayed with white paint and also green Glimmer Mist.  I used Michelle's "Mary Mary" image because I thought she would be perfect for this project!! 

So....what do you think!?!  My hubby even loved it and thinks that I should try to sell them.  I was like....WHATEVER!!!!

A Phindy Image With.................

Hey everyone!!  Wow...I can't believe that it's been a whole week since we started our challenge blog over at Phindy's Place!!  I want to thank all of you who participated in our first challenge.  You all had fabulous cards!!!!

Now on to our second challenge.  Our challenge this week is to use a Phindy's Place image and add some ribbon to your card and or project.  That's another easy one don't ya think!?!  It's easy to add a little ribbon to just about everything!!!  Here's my card for this challenge..............

For this card I have used the image Flower Top Fairy Mushroom Minx.  I just fell in love with this image as soon as I saw it!!  She is just the cutest little things and so much fun to color!!!

She is colored with Copics and then I cut her out with one of my nesties and just didn't like the look so I ended up cutting her all out.  For this challenge I have used grosgrain and sheer ribbon and really like how it turned out.  Honestly....I'm a little ribbon challenged myself!!  I tried to add another DP but just couldn't make it look right so opted for something a little more plain.

OMGosh....I almost forgot!!!  I'm getting ready to take the Copic Certification class in June!!!  I am sooo excited that I can't stand it!  I have been accepted and everything's all paid for!!  My baby sis lives in Boise so it should be an inexpensive trip!!  Well....except for the trip to the new Hobby Lobby that just opened up there!!!  I can't wait for that one!  :)

Phindy's Spring Breeze

Phindy's Place has a new image out called Spring Breeze and OMG....I think it has to be one of my all time favorite images!!  So very retro!!  There are so many possibilities with this image.  Mother's Day, New Baby, Vintage and on and on and on!!!!

I have created a Mother's Day card with this image and I am really happy with how it has turned out!!  Here's my card..............

This image is colored with Copics and for the background I have tried my hand at Prismas and gamsol.  I still need lots of practice with that technique but I don't think I too bad for it being my first time!  :)  Isn't this image AWESOME!?!  You can just feel the breeze!

A Sketchy Wednesday

Yep...it's time for a new sketch at The Digi Shack!  I really enjoyed working with this one and really love how my card turned out!

I went on a treasure hunt in my craft room and found some things I have forgotten about.  Sheesh....I seriously have soooo much stuff that when I go searching it's like going shopping all over again!!  LOL!!  I think this card could be used for a male or female card.  The coloring of the flowers was totally inspired by some daisy seeds that purchased which I can't wait to plant BTW!!!!  :)  What are the odds that I would be able to find a DP to match them perfectly!?!  WooHoo....sometimes it pays to have LOTS of stash!!  I have also used some photo turns and magic mesh on this card.  I LOVE THAT STUFF!!!

It's A Tiddly Tuesday

WooHoo....it's time for the very first challenge on the Tiddly Inks challenge blog!  I am so thrilled and honored to be a guest designer for Tiddly Inks this month!!  Yes...I'm sad that I didn't make the design team but hey, a guest designer is the next best thing huh!?!  :)  Have you seen Christy's (Tiddly Inks) images?  OMG....serious cute factor here!!  Right now you can purchase her images on Etsy but within the next week or so Tiddly Inks is going to have their very own store!!!  Now how exciting is that!?!  Please keep in mind that there are not a lot of images available in the Etsy store but please be patient and continue to follow along for the grand opening of the new store.  I've seen a sneak peek of a couple of images and shhhhhh.......LOL!!!

My image is colored with Copics of course and I have used DP from Sassafrass.  They just have the funnest papers.  I have also used some Prima mini roses and Robins Nest teardrops.  Ribbon is from Offray and my sentiment is a stamp from..............I can't find it on there anywhere!!!  Sorry!!

I just loved coloring this image, this little giraffe is just the cutest!!!  The image is colored with Copics and once again I forgot to take a picture of the colors I used.  I have started just writing down the colors I use because it's much easier for me!!!  Sorry....I will try to do better!!  :)

Fussy And Fancy

WooHoo...I have a free day today so I decided to play with a new image I have from a digi company that I have recently discovered.  The image is from Isabella's Sketchbook and OMG....she has some of the most beautiful digi's!!!  She has some very vintage feeling images and I just love them.  If your a total digi addict like me....YOU HAVE GOT TO CHECK OUT THIS STORE!!!!  :)

I have used the sketch from a new challenge blog that I found called Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge.  Fussy and Fancy....yep, that is definitely me!!!!  Here's the sketch that I have based my card upon......

Isn't this just a WONDERFUL sketch.  I remember my blogger friend Angela using this sketch and I made a comment about how much I loved it and promptly forgot about it!!  Sheesh....I'm sure glad I ran into it again!!!!

The Digi Shack Design Team Call

It’s that time again where we are looking for a few fresh faces to join The Digi Shack.

If you LOVE digi’s you’ll love being part of our family!  We are looking for new design team members.  We’ve recently lowered our prices on our images to just $1 each to do our part in saving the world of paper crafter’s money!  We are also adding a few new lines to our shop including some fabulous templates!

Open to:

U.S. and International English speaking applicants

Please read the following very carefully before submitting your application.  It is very important that you follow the directions as that too is part of the determining factor of you becoming a DT member

·         3 pictures of your VERY BEST work.  Photos must be sized at 640x480.  This can either be cards, layouts with pictures or altered items

·         A paragraph (not a sentence) about you and why you want to be a Shack Sistah and what you will do to promote The Digi Shack.

·         A clickable link to your blog

·         A clickable link to your online gallery or galleries

·         A list of clickable links to all Design teams you are on.  It is favorable that you are not active on more than 3 design teams while you are with TDS.

What is expected of DT members?

If you are chosen to be a Shack Sistah you will be expected to:

·         Complete weekly challenges and post to your blog on the challenge day(s).

·         Post comments and photos on SNR and PCP and other social networking sites.(this means you will have to have a user account at SNR and PCP)

·         You will also be required to leave comments on blogs for all of our TDS fans that participate in our challenges and your sistah’s blogs

·         Participate in ALL TDS events where sufficient notice is given.

·         It is not required but we encourage all DT members to submit their artwork to magazine publication at least once a month. A list of publications will be provided for you on the DT blog.

You will also be required to participate in Digi Day on SNR on the 1^st Saturday of EVERY MONTH for your term.(this date is subject to change without notice) as well as our monthly Ustream live video feeds (you do not need to have a webcam but you do need to sign up for a free Ustream account so that you can participate in the live chats)

You must use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as your internet browser in order to view all of our images – both safer than IE and free to download.  Our images are not always visible on IE.  This does not mean if you use IE you have to delete it, you just need to use Firefox or Chrome while working with TDS images and blogs.  You can have more than one browser installed on your computer and it should not harm or interfere with your system.

You must also know and understand how to use digital images.  No special software is required but you must be able to print digital images in order to showcase them.  Further, you must have a working knowledge of blogging software and understand the basic principles of inserting links, adding photos, etc.

A digital camera to photograph your work is required.  No scanned images please. 

You will be required to promote TDS by placing a clickable blog button on your blog. (This will be provided to you by TDS if you are chosen to be on the team)

You must have a blog that is updated at least 3 times a week.

You must be willing to commit to a 3 month term (June 1, 2010-Sept 1, 2010)

You will be required to check the DT blog daily to check for updates or new events.  This is our main form of communication. 

You must be willing to work under short notice.  I am not a planner and more often than not, I plan things at the last minute. 

Failure to comply with the above terms may result in termination with or without notice.

What do DT members get as part of being on the team?

You will receive free TDS images!  This round we are doing things a bit different.  Once selected as part of the DT you will receive 3 images of your choice to create with to announce your position on the team.  Once I see that these three images are used you may choose 3 more and so on.  I’ve found that if I freely give out images then they are not being used to showcase TDS.  This isn’t just about getting free images, your position on the DT is to showcase and promote The Digi Shack.  As long as you are creating with our images and showcasing them, you will receive all of your requested images.  Please remember that this is a serious commitment and I expect that you treat it as such if you are chosen.  Please do not apply if you can not commit.

Monthly we will be releasing new images and you will automatically be sent those images before the release date so that you can sneak peek those new arrivals.  Those new releases do not count towards your images of choice.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Shack Sistah email your application with DESIGN TEAM in the subject line by May 15, 2010 – Any applications with anything more or less than DESIGN TEAM in the subject line will be disqualified.

Another exciting announcement

Yesterday Christy Croll from Tiddly Inks made the announcement of her new DT.  Unfortunately I didn't make the DT but I am so excited to announce that  I was invited by Christ Croll  to be a guest designer on the new Tiddly Inks Challenge blog!!   I'm thrilled to have the chance to be a guest designer!!  More details coming soon!!!  :)

Here's the card that I created when I tried out for the DT....................

I just love this cute little image and I really had lots of fun coloring her!!  As you probably already know if you follow my blog at all..........I love bold bright colors!!!  :)  For this card I made my own flowers with one of my punches and then I just pinched and crinkled them to add a little dimension.  I think they turned out cuter than what the picture shows!!!  My little Annie is colored with Copics and I have added some Stickles to the flower on her headband, the dots on her dress and her card.  It's so much cuter IRL!!  :)  My "enjoy" stamp is from Unity Stamps.

Isn't this image just the most precious thing!?!  I wanted to use something other than pink or blue to make my baby card and then I remembered that I had some Graphic 45 Baby to Bride paper that I absolutely loved the colors in and then the search was on to find it!!!  Eek!  My image is colored with Copics and of course I forgot to take a picture before I put them away!!

A Sneak Peek And A Blog Hop

It's Digi Shack Time

It's time for a new challenge at The Digi Shack.  We have a new sketch for you this week.

This sketch has so many possibilities and it was a lot of fun to work with. I have used a new release image from The Digi Shack.  Here is the card that I have created based on this sketch.........

I think this image is wonderful for Fathers Day, Birthdays or anytime you need a card for a man.  I have colored this image with my Copics and then cut them out and layered them onto a Spellbinders die cut.  I also used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and a new MS punch.  This card is a lot more plain than what I normally do but......how do you embellish a mans card when your a flower junkie!?!

Favorite Color Combo And..........

That's right, it's time for a new challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio!  This week we have issued a challenge to color one of Michelle's images with your favorite color combo and also use lace and pearls!!  Now how much fun can you have with that one!?!  Here's the card I created using this challenge............

I have used Michelle's BFF Mermaids and OMG....aren't the just adorable!?!  I bet you can't guess what my favorite color combo is!!!!  LOL!  I just love bright colors and I fell in love with this color combo when I was scrapbooking.  This seems to be my go to combo when I have girly images!!  I used my pearls on the bubbles around the girls and I really struggled with the lace.  Everything I did looked off.  Well....I decided to use the lace as my corners and it actually looks pretty cute IRL!!
