A New Sketch Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at The Pixie Cottage and this week our challenge is based on a sketch by fellow DT member Anne!!

Here is the card I made based on her sketch....

I used a stamp called SouthEnd Girls 2 by Andrea T. Seiler.  I LOVE this stamp.  It can be used for so many different occasions and I love stamps like that!!!  Isn't she awesome?  You can't really tell from this picture but this card has lots of Crystal Stickles used on it and it has some serious shine!!  I also used some new Prima Fairytale Roses.  If you like the Prima mini roses you are going to love these.  They come with no wire stem and the rose is about double the size of the minis.  I love them but then again.....I am a flower freak!!!  :)

Originally I had done a baby card for this sketch but I just couldn't make it look the way I wanted it to so when my new stamp came in the mail on Monday....I was all over it!!  LOL!!

Make sure you stop by The Pixie Cottage blog and check out what the rest of the DT has done with Anne's sketch!!  Come join us and let's have some fun!!!!

Hope to see you there!!!

Have a good one!

A New Challenge and A New Technique

Hi everyone!!  Yep, it's time for a new challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio!!  This week our challenge is to create a side step card and to also use spring colors.  I am so ready for spring to get here!!!

Well....the side step card is a totally new technique for me but so is the way I have colored this BEAUTIFUL Just Breathe image!!!  As some of you may know, I have been taking a class over at My Creative Classroom called Coloring Craze.  This class is teaching us how to color with a lot of the different mediums that are available to us such as colored pencils (with and without OMS), watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, markers (both water base and alcohol) and water coloring with dye inks.  This class has been so much fun for me!!!  So, this week my image is colored with Distress inks and I have to admit....I think I could become highly addicted to this technique!  Of course it will never take the place of my Copics but it really is easier to do than I thought it would be!  Here's my card using both the side step technique and coloring with Distress inks...............
Okay, my card is a little plain but I haven't quite grasped the whole concept of decorating side step cards!!  :P

I hope you will stop by the Michelle Perkett Studio challenge blog and check out what the rest of the DT has done with this challenge.  WOWZA....they blew me away!!!

Thank you for stopping by today and hope to see you again!!

Have a good one!

A Colour Addiction

Hey everyone!!  I have grown quite fond of the Copic Colour Challenge blog!!  It is such an awesome way to make yourself think outside your normal color schemes!!  I am really loving it!!  This week our colors were.........
For my card I have also used the Love and Friendship challenge at Phindy's Place.  BTW....if your not a part of the PCP group, now is a really good time to join us as we are having a Phindy 500 celebration this week and part of next.  Too much fun!!  Okay, back on track!!!  :)  The challenge at Phindy's Place was a love or friendship theme, must have a cut out of some sort and the sentiment needed to be humorous.  Okay...the sentiment I struggled with!!  Anyways, here's my card.................
Isn't this little girl getting into Mommy's purse just adorable!?!  You can find the image here along with lots of other awesome images!!!

Now for the cut out part of the challenge.  I cut out my little girl, lipstick lid and fingernail polish and popped them up using chipboard.  Just the perfect amount of pop!!  Here's a side view.....
So, what do you think about the sentiment?  I think it's kinda corny but it fit my image perfectly!!

Copics Used:
Eek...now that was a lot of Copics used for just one simple image!!  LOL!!!

If you use Copics, you should check out the Copic Colour Challenge and we would love to see you at Phindy's Place!!!!

Have a good one!!!

Copic Creations Feather Blending

Yikes....I know I have practiced doing it but I'm having a hard time getting it!!  :)  The challenge at Copic Creations is feather blending.  When I took my Everything Copic class at MCC I think that was one of the main things I had problems with.  Okay...I practiced until it was acceptable and then I never tried it on anything.  Bah!!!   Well, now I'm presented with this dilemma...do I attempt it or do I just let this one slide.  Honestly, I was going to let this one slide until I pulled out one of my ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection stamps from Sweet Pea Stamps and I guess the OCD came out because then I was obsessed with feathering her wings.  Before I go any further, here's my card......................
Okay...I may not have picked the best colors to try and feather but.............I don't think it turned out terrible!!!  Another thing that went through my mind while doing her wings was........why didn't I do this first instead of last!?!  You know, just in case something goes terribly wrong!?!  :)  My picture of this card on the other hand turned out not so good.  I couldn't keep my sentiment from washing out.  Ugh!  For this image I used lots of Diamond Stickles and my clear Sakura Stardust pen.  She is just so pretty with all of her sparkle!!  I also used the Diamond Stickles on my flowers.  The heart charm is colored with my copics because I wanted it red instead of an antique silver.  So much prettier!!!

Here's a closeup of the image........

Copics Used:

So....how do you think my feathering turned out?  :P

I'm also going to enter this in the Flutter By Wednesday's challenge.  The theme this week is Love!!!

Thanks for visiting today and hope to see you again real soon!!

Have a good one!!

A Big Fat Hug & Kiss

Hi everyone!!  I really hate when I forget to schedule my post the night before.  It's time for a new Pixie Cottage Challenge and our challenge this week is a LOVE THEME!!  What an appropriate theme for this time of year huh!?!

For my card today I used another new stamp by Eileen Gutierrez for The Pixie Cottage and I just love this stamp!!  This would be perfect for a Valentine as well as an everyday sending love card!!  Here's my card..........
Isn't s(he) just the cutest!?!  Kinda thinking big ol' wet sloppy kisses here!!  LOL!!  So...what do you think about the magic mesh in the background?  I thought that if looked kinda cool without taking away from that gorgeous background paper that I received as a RAK and while putting away my stuff, much to my surprise I stumbled onto this stamp set from 3 Bugs in a Rug.  I just thought it was perfect for my card!!!

As some of you may know....my wonderful hubby finally put my slat wall up and I have been busy getting everything organized.  OMG.....I have so much stuff that I forgot I had and I have having some serious fun!!!  Think kid in a candy store kinda fun!!! :)  My DIL told me last night that I seriously have a small scrapbooking store in my craft room!!!  *blush*  The nerve of her.....she called me a hoarder!!!!!  EEK.....time to start using all of that stuff!!  LOL!

Okay, enough rambling!!  Pop on over to The PIxie Cottage blog and check out what the rest of the DT did with this theme.  Every one of the cards are fabulous!!

We hope that you will join us this week for our LOVE THEME challenge and really look forward to seeing all of your creations.  If you have Pixie Cottage stamps, we would love to see what YOU can do with them!!

Have a good one!!!

A Mixture of Things

Hey everyone!!  So....what did y'all think about the Super Bowl!?!  WooHoo!!!!  My hubby even won some money on one of his football boards.  That and the fact that the Saint's won....I am a happy camper!!!!

I have a couple of cards for you today!!  The first one is one of my new stamps from Faerie Song.  I just love this stamp!!  Here's my card............
Isn't this just the greatest stamp?  The little Corner Mushroom stamps are from The Pixie Cottage and I thought that they went perfect with this image!!  I created this card for the Copic Colour Challenge and our colors this week were to use E18 which I used on the flowers, E42 and E77 both of which I used on the mushrooms.  WOW...I never would have thought the E77 would be the perfect color for mushrooms!!!  I am really loving this blog because it is making me think about color combination's that I probably wouldn't think of!!!

I am also going to enter this one into the Flutter By Wednesday's challenge which is an open challenge this week but you have to use a fairy, butterfly or angel.  I guess that both of my cards would qualify for this challenge today!!!

Copics Used:

My next card is using my new Haiti Relief stamp "Shining On"  by ching-chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps.  When you purchase this stamp 50% of the price will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.  Here's my card..............
This is only my second card ever that I have colored ethnic skin.  WOW....I think I need a lot more practice!!  Melissa at Sweet Pea Stamps has been giving me some pointers but I just can't bring myself to try another one just yet!!  LOL!!  For this stamp I have used my black Spica glitter pen to color her wings.  I also used a silver pen to do the leaves in her hair.  This card really has lots of sparkle in real life but I guess your just going to have to take my word for it!!  :)  I used feathers and this little crystal butterfly that I got from Michael's.

Copics Used:

One more think before I go!!!  I almost forgot about the Sweet Pea Stamps Customer Challenge for this week.  The challenge was to create and ATC and you could only use 3 colors.  First of all, this is the very first ATC that I have ever done!!!!  OMGosh...what are you to do with such a little thing!?!  Second, I don't even know what an ATC is for!!  Total stampin' newbie here!!  LOL!!  But.........I just love challenges!!!  Here is the ATC that I created for this challenge using an angel stamp from Plate #17 at Sweet Pea Stamps.
This is just a gorgeous stamp set!!
Thanks for visiting me today and be sure and check back tomorrow as we have a new challenge at The Pixie Cottage!!!!  BTW....sorry for such a long post!!!!!

Have a good one!!!

Love Letter Blog Hop

Welcome to the Michelle Perkett Studio Love Letter Blog Hop!!!  You should have hopped over here from Michelle's Blog beings that is the very beginning!!  LOL!  If you didn't arrive here from Michelle's b log you can jump back there so you start at the beginning.  If at any time during the hop you get lost you can hop back to Michelle's blog and pick up where you left off!!

Our challenge was to create a project using the Love Letter Fairy with lots of red and pink and some gold.  We was also to write a love letter as part of this hop.

First of all I'm going to show you my project.  I created a step card and this is the very first time I have done one of these but this image was perfect for it!!!!

Sorry....I forgot to take a picture of my card in the daylight so had to use my flash!!  She is colored with my Copics and I used some DP that I received as a RAK from Kimberly at Flutter By Wednesday's.  It was perfect!!!  I used my gold Spica pen on her dress and wings.  I also used Diamond Stickles on the hearts.  I used my floral wire wrapped around a pencil to attach my foam hearts.  This card looks so much better in real life!!!

Okay....the second part was to write a love letter.  Here is my letter...............

To my wonderful friend Michelle!

Michelle, although we have never met, I feel this bond with you! From the very first time we talked I felt like we just had a lot in common. I’m not one to make friends easily as I have been burned a few times in my life by so called friends but somehow you broke through that wall that I had built around myself once again!!! You were there to listen when I felt the need to vent or cry on your shoulder and never once did you judge me for my feelings!! Well, at least not to my face! LOL!!!

I talk about you to my hubby and he usually knows who I’m talking about now. My baby sister’s name is also Michelle so sometimes he has to ask me which Michelle!! I guess I must talk about you like you are my sister. 

I hope that some day we will be able to meet each other in person but until that day comes…..I want you to know that I consider you my very best friend!! Cyber friend or not.  Oh, and the fact that you are the artist of my VERY FAVORITE images ever doesn’t hurt either!!!!

I want you to know that I love you like a sister and I will always look forward to the day when we can meet in person!!

Sending big hugs and kisses to you my sweet friend!!

Love Always,

Tammy

The next stop on the hop will be the awesome Ellen .

Thanks for joining us today!!!  Oops.........I almost forgot!!!

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Gotta throw my football in today beings it's the Super Bowl!! :)

Have a good one!!!

Here is a picture of my box and tag...............
This is Michelle's "Sister's of Spring" image because I was ready for something bright and cheery!!  They are colored with Copics and I forgot to take a picture of the ones I used so I'm just going to tell you today!
